Problem Solving
This segment focuses on innovate approaches towards creating results. Then we practice these approaches to help us make decisions. Thwarting stagnation and other obstacles to productivity are creatively addressed. As seen from an altitude of 10,000 feet, the easiest way to change something is to change your viewpoint. That can place you in the optimum position to make a change in your world.
Workbook Activities
Each participant will receive our
JUMPstart Workbook that parallels the presentations and offers activities that will continue to inspire & challenge long past the day of your workshop.
Risk Management
Can you really “manage” risk? We address how to identify "red flags", taking chances, being in the moment, and more. Can fear be useful? We must take risks to reach goals, to make progress.
On the Plane Activity
During your ride to 10,000 feet on your way to make your skydive, we apply workshop lessons, including mental exercises with visualization & meditation.
Effective Listening
Listening is using information from someone else, like a shortcut. Especially in skydiving, the gratification of thinking you already know it all is not worth the trade-off of missing out on information! Equally important is the idea of phrasing your message clearly, so we explore using questions and effective expression.
Multimedia
Throughout the day, we present skydiving documentaries that educate & inspire as well as videos presenting philosophical insight into leadership topics.
Time Management
No one can possess Time, much less hold it tangibly in their hands, much like the air going past our bodies in freefall, or the wind we deal with under the parachute canopy. Going with the flow, using it to your advantage, instead of fighting against it presents opportunities and adventures you may not have otherwise, and avoids injury and pain and struggle. In this segment we practice observation, awareness and attention to the moment.
Motivation
How can we use ideas about motivation to achieve? Mostly motivation stems from a single decision: often people use "lack of motivation" as an excuse for simply not making a decision. As skydivers we use a Decision Altitude of 2,000 feet when we must make a choice about keeping a main canopy or using the reserve. Ahead of this, we check the altimeter often to keep a perspective of priorities and allow ourselves the right to delay deciding. But once, Decision Altitude is reached, we choose and what follows is momentum.
